These sukhe kale chane taste having a kale chane with a plain paratha and mango pickle too. They make a great lunch box, travel breakfast item. These kale chane are nutritious and packed with the protein. Just prepare them and add some chopped cucumber, tomatoes, green chilli and fresh green coriander and they become a powder packed protein rich salad

           Dry Chana Recipe

Sukhe kale chane are just chane sauted in some oil with very basis dry masalas. Generally these dry kale chane are made as ashtami prasad along with poori. But these kale chane taste great with plain paratha too. They are great for road travel and journey as they well do not spoil for the long time.



Ingredients :

1.  1 cup Kale Chane Black Chana

2.  2 tbsp Ghee/Oil

3.  1 tbsp Jeera ( Cumin Seeds ).

4.  2-3 Green Chillies slit.

5.  1 tbsp Red Chilli Powder

6.  1/2 tbsp Turmeric Powder

7.  1/2 tbsp Chaat Masala

8.  1 tbsp Garam Masala Powder

9.  1 tbsp Fresh Coriander Powder

10. Salt to taste.


How to Make Sukhe Kale Chane :

1. Wash and soak the Kale chane overnight in the water. In the morning they have been doubled from the size.

2. Throw away that water and boil them with 1/2 tsp salt and 3 cup of water in the pressure cooker.


Give 5 to 6 whistles and then let the pressure will release. Check the Kale chane by spoon or squeeshing by your fingers. If you feel it is taking effort to mash the channa then let be cook for 2-3 whistles more.

3. Later seperate the water and the Chane. We will be just using the Kale chane.

4. Now, in a pan, heat ghee, add jeera seeds, When they become to crackle add the slit of green chillies.

5. Let it fry for a minutes and then add turmeric, red chilli, garam masala, coriander powder, chaat masala and add some salt.

6. Now add only the boiled chane. Add a little bit of the chana water if it is too dry and cook for the 4 to 5 minutes. Lower flame and let the chane for 1 - 2 minutes or till the chane attain a oil sheen.

7. Switch off the flame and garnish with green coriander.


8. At last, Serve with the aloo ki sabji, Poori and Pickle.
